Nyungwe is one of Africa’s oldest and most biodiverse rainforests. The park shelters 13 primate species including 500+ chimpanzees, colobus monkey troops of 400, and the endangered Rwenzori colobus. A suspension canopy walkway 50 metres above the forest floor offers an extraordinary perspective on the ancient ecosystem. Nyungwe is also a headwater of the River Nile.
