Lake Nakuru is one of the world’s greatest ornithological spectacles. Up to one million lesser flamingos turn the alkaline lake shore pink — a phenomenon visible from 50 kilometres away. The surrounding national park shelters one of Kenya’s most important white rhino populations, Rothschild giraffes, lion, leopard, and waterbuck.
