Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is Uganda’s most sacred wilderness. Its ancient montane rainforest — unchanged for 25,000 years — shelters almost half the world’s surviving mountain gorilla population. Trekking through dense forest to sit one hour with a gorilla family, eye-to-eye with a 200kg silverback, is the single most emotionally overwhelming wildlife experience in Africa.
