Akagera is one of Africa’s greatest conservation success stories. After near-collapse in the 1990s, the park was revived through community partnership with African Parks. Lions were reintroduced in 2015, black rhino in 2017 — completing the Big Five. The Akagera River lake system draws elephant, hippo, buffalo, and exceptional birdlife across a stunning savannah landscape.
